Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our traditional fermentation vessels and artisanal pantry staples.
How do I properly season my new Onggi earthenware?
To season your Onggi, wash it with lukewarm water and a soft brush (avoid soap). Fill it with water and a handful of flour or rice bran, let it sit for 24 hours, then rinse and air dry completely before first use.
Do you ship fragile items internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. We use specialized eco-friendly double-walled packaging and high-density foam to ensure your earthenware arrives safely, regardless of the distance.
What is your return policy for food products?
For safety and hygiene reasons, all food items and fermentation starters are final sale. However, if your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours for a replacement.
Are your fermentation jars lead-free and food-safe?
Absolutely. All our Onggi are handcrafted by master artisans using 100% natural clay and traditional lead-free glazes made from wood ash and iron-rich minerals.
How long does shipping take for domestic orders?
Standard domestic orders are processed within 2-3 business days. Depending on your location, delivery typically takes 5-7 business days via our carbon-neutral shipping partners.
Can I use Onggi on a stovetop or in the oven?
Traditional Onggi are designed for fermentation and storage, not direct heat. For cooking, we recommend our specific line of Ttukbaegi (earthenware pots), which are fire-safe and thermal-shock resistant.
